Day 1 : Marrakech to Dades valley via Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou

On Marrakech to Merzouga 3 days desert trip, you should expect to be picked up early in the morning. On an air-conditioned modern vehicle, we start the first day of the trip to the Atlas mountains, our first stop will be in the Argan oil cooperative,  we will see a Small Berber village occupying a strategic position in the High Atlas Mountains, before arriving for a magical stop at the famous Kasbahs at Ait Ben Haddou.

Leaving Ait Benhaddou will take us onto the city of Ouarzazate, the main access point and crossroads of the south. The city holds different and marvelous sights, the local Glaoui Kasbah of Taourirt deserves a visit. Movie fans may also enjoy the tour of the Atlas Film Corporation Studios. Plenty of films and movie series took place in areas such as the fifth season of Prison Break, the well-known Game Of Thrones, The Vikings…etc!

Having lunch at one of the local restaurants, we head deeper into the Dades Valley and enjoy the views of some of Morocco’s most spectacular canyons. At Boulmalne Dades where we stop off at a town which is right at the edge of the desert, we will stay over for the night at a comfortable hotel where we will have an evening meal and breakfast the next morning before continuing through the Dades Valley for Todra Gorge.

Day 2 : Dades Valley to Merzouga via Todgha gorges

After breakfast, we start the second day of the private Sahara tour by driving straightway to the magnificent Todra Gorges, a massive steep-sided canyon carved by the river through the limestone in the eastern part of the High Atlas Mountains. It is a well-maintained area with asphalt roads guiding tourists around this vast canyon. You’ll witness rock climbers, people trying to see the top of the cliff face, and occasional flooding from the Dades River.

Having a stop to refresh and have a local yummy lunch, we head off to our final destination of the day, the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, but the best desert adventure part is yet to come.

Riding on camels through the golden sands of the desert is like something you’ll have only ever witnessed in films like Lawrence of Arabia, but you will hop on a dromedary for the final leg of today’s journey up to the Berber desert camp.

The camels will transport us through the Dunes of Erg Chebbi. With the choice to walk along with the guides. However, you’ll quickly realize that the camel ride is the easiest and most exciting experience of desert travel there is. Overnight stay in a Desert Camp.

On the final night of our 3 days from Marrakech desert tour, you will have a great opportunity to test an unforgettable experience by spending a night in the middle of the Sahara Desert sleeping in a traditional Berber tent. The tent is well equipped and restful. You will feel the desert breeze at night as you may want to enjoy your evening meal under the stars (depending on the weather) with the music sound of gentle Moroccan drums to help you unwind.

The fresh air, jet black skies, and the occasional sound of the camel’s breathing will ensure most sleep peacefully through the desert night. In the morning, you will remain in the camp and sample a filling breakfast and prepare for the final day’s heading to Marrakech.

Day 3 : Merzouga to Marrakech via Draa Valley

On the last day of our private 3 days desert tour, you have to wake up early morning to see the beautiful sunrise in the highest dune which is in front of our desert campsite. then you return to the camp where is a delicious breakfast waiting for you, and you have to choose to ride camels or to take a 4×4 car back to the village  Here we say goodbye to the Merzouga desert and we take the road back to Marrakech.

On our way to Marrakech, we will have some stops for coffee, stops in Draa valley to take pictures, and of course for lunch. Then we continue driving in the high atlas mountains to arrive in Marrakech and we drop off you at your hotel or the nearest point to your riad. Here we finish our 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga and back to Marrakech with our company and we hope you enjoyed it.
