The 5 days tour Fes to Marrakech offers an incredible experience in the Sahara desert. Our 5 days Morocco desert tour from Fes to the Merzouga desert is scheduled for the morning, we pick up you from your hotel then we drive towards Ifrane, a city called Switzerland of Morocco because it is very clean.
We continue our Morocco tour passing the cedar forests in Azrou. Here we may watch local monkeys living in the forest before we drive to Midelt, which is very famous for mineral products and apples.
Then we drive across the Ziz valley. And we will visit Erfoud, famous for its fossil products. We continue to the Merzouga desert where we stay in a desert hotel/riad.
Around 9:30 am you drive to the village of the Negroes, Khamlia. These people came from Sudan and were originally brought north as slaves. You will meet some families and enjoy mint tea with them and listen to traditional Gnaoua music.
Our next stop will be at Mfis, a small village to the southeast of the dunes, close to the coal and copper mines where most of the people in Merzouga used to make their livings.
Then, after a further stop in Merdane village, we carry on to meet Berber families before driving back to Merzouga to check in at your hotel.
In the afternoon, you will mount your camel to cross the dunes and discover one of the secrets of the ‘sea of sand’. Our stop will be in a virgin oasis. Enjoy the silence of the desert, appreciate the natural beauty surrounding you, and watch the majestic sunset.
Spend the evening under a canopy of stars, twinkling with an intensity you may never have seen before. Sleep in traditional Berber tents.
Today we continue by camel ride back to Merzouga village and we enjoy the desert sunrise in Merzouga. Then we drive towards Tinghir to explore Todra gorges, the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco.
We drive through the Dades Valley to explore the rock formations known as “monkey toes”. We will spend the night in a local riad/hotel with dinner and breakfast.
Our private 5 desert tour from Fes to Marrakech continues towards Kalaa M’gouna, called “the rose city”, where we may purchase the rosewater. We continue to Skoura to visit the Kasbah Ameridil.
After lunch in a traditional restaurant, we head to Ouarzazate, called “the Hollywood of Africa”. Here we may visit a local movie studio and also a Kasbah in the city center. We stay overnight in a local riad/hotel with dinner and breakfast.
The final day will also begin with breakfast, then a visit to Ouarzazate’s famous cinema studio known as Africa’s Hollywood. Afterward, we head to the UNESCO Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah where some of the modern classics like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia & Indiana jones were shot.
